SUMMER 2008 PROGRAMS
Sing, dance and act with us!! Summer at PAC includes musical theater programs for children entering grades 1-10. For the first six weeks, one-week workshops offer students the opportunity to explore highlights of shows and movies, featuring a different production each week. Our three-week production in August will be Guys and Dolls. Everyone gets a chance to shine in this unique and nurturing environment. Scroll down to read more about these programs...

ONE-WEEK MUSICAL THEATER WORKSHOPS
SCHEDULE
Week 1, June 23-27: Enchanted, Songs from the Disney movie and other “enchanting” tales
Week 2, June 30-July 3 (4 days): Bye Bye Birdie, A classic musical with an Elvis beat
Week 3, July 7- 11: Muppets Greatest Hits, Songs from the Muppets’ movies & TV shows
Week 4, July 14-18: Newsies, The hit movie about newspaper deliverers fighting for their rights
Week 5, July 21-25: Little Shop of Horrors, A nerdy florist must feed his man-eating plant
Week 6, July 28-Aug.1: Disney’s Mulan, A heroic story of old China
POLICIES
Summer workshops are taught by our experienced staff of theater directors, music directors and choreographers as well as talented high school interns. Betsy Fishman, Betty Lehrman, Josh Del Dotto, Kathrine Waters, and Colleen Biron comprise the senior faculty. Each week, the directors choose four or more production numbers and scenes for the cast to explore. Students share their accomplishments with parents every Friday at 2:30pm.
WEEK 1: Open to children entering grades 1-10 in fall 2008. Students will be split into two age groups for part of the day, and work as an ensemble for the rest of the time. Students may perform at the Framingham Civic League on Friday afternoon, depending upon enrollment. Limit: 50 participants.
WEEKS 2-6: Open to children entering grades 3-9 in fall 2008. The Friday sharing will be in the PAC Performance Hall. Limit: 25 participants per week.
HOURS: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM Monday through Friday, with an extended day option until 4:00 PM. Students bring their own lunch, water and snacks.
PICKUP & EXTENDED DAY: Parents are expected to come up to the PAC studios or the Civic League for pickup at 3:00 pm. Late pickups (after 3:15 pm) will be charged $10 per hour or any portion thereof.
PEANUTS POLICY: Because we often have students who are severely allergic to peanuts, we ask that you not send any peanuts products in an effort to support those with medical needs.
BEHAVIOR EXPECTATIONS: PAC reserves the right to dismiss a student whose behavior interferes with the rights of others or the smooth functioning of the workshops. Our staff has experience with children with special needs. Parents are encouraged to communicate any special concerns with the staff or the director prior to the first day.
Registrations will be processed as they are received. Annual PAC registration fee of $25 must be current for all students (paid since 9/1/07). Cost for one week is $285, including a Summer 2008 Cast T-shirt, with a $10 discount for each additional week. Siblings registering for the same week receive a $10 discount. A $50 deposit per child per week is required in order to accept registration. 50% of the deposit is refundable if notification of cancellation is received in writing prior to May 1. Payment in full must be received by June 1 for all weeks. Financial aid may be available and is based on need. Please contact the PAC office for information. All participants will by informed by June 1, and all payments will be refunded at that time if program is cancelled.

THREE-WEEK WORKSHOP PRODUCTION: GUYS and DOLLS
GUYS AND DOLLS is one of the great classics of American musical theater! The rich depths of New York’s gangsters and the sweetness of the Save-a-Soul Mission are explored in this Damon Runyon fantasy. Includes the well-known songs “Luck Be a Lady Tonight,” “Adelaide’s Lament” and “Sit Down, You’re Rockin’ the Boat”. Join us for three intense weeks of singing, dancing, acting, and terrific times.
POLICIES:
Our experienced theater professionals include stage director Betty Lehrman, music director Joshua Del Dotto, and choreographer Brandi Lochiatto. Several assistants (high school or college students) round out the teaching staff, and professional musicians are enlisted for the pit band.
Program is limited to 30 students entering grades 4-9 in fall 2008.
Dates: August 4-22, Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Students bring their own lunch, water and snacks. In respect for those with allergies, please do not bring food with peanuts.
All students in the workshop will be cast. Auditions will be held the first day to determine who will play which roles.
During the first two weeks, rehearsals meet at PAC. The cast and crew will move on the third week to the Framingham Civic League, 214 Concord Street, Framingham.
Favorite events include Pajama Day and the Talent Show.
Guys and Dolls performances are open to the public and will be held in the Civic League’s air conditioned theater, Thursday, Aug. 21 and Friday, Aug. 22 at 7:30pm. A short preview performance will also be scheduled at the Concerts on the Common series in Framingham Center.
