PDQ Bach Times Two will open the program, presenting choreography by Anne Lemos Edgerton accompanied by guest pianist Vytas Baksys. Based on Peter Schickele's composition "The Short Tempered Clavier: preludes and fugues in all the Major and Minor keys except the really hard ones", a clever and funny collage of Bach and folk music motifs, the music will be performed by Mr. Baksys on piano to interspersed dance interpretations.
Seven is a movement exploration of this mystical number and its connections to the chakras, or energy centers, defined in ancient Eastern culture. Choreographed by Lynne Johnson Grynkewicz, Seven features an eclectic mix of world music, interpretive movement, and lighting. In seven sections, the work progresses from movement interpretations of the root physical energy center to the crown center, creating an experiential journey from the physical to an ‘enlightened’ state.
This program is funded, in part, by the Massachusetts Cultural Council as administered by the Framingham Cultural Council.
