THE MOBSTERS OF FRAMINGHAM
AUDITIONS ARE NOW ON TUESDAY AND SATURDAY!! Please note new audition dates and times! Auditions for The Mobsters of Framingham - Dinner Theater You Can't Refuse will be on Tuesday, February 9 from 5:30 - 7:00 PM and Saturday, February 13 from 12:00 - 3:00 PM at the Performing Arts Center (directions below). You need only audition at one of these times. If you would like to audition but cannot arrive at the start time on the day you will be auditioning, please let us know by emailing fct@pacmetrowest.org. 14 actors will be needed for this production (7-9 men and 5-7 women). All actors should be 18 years old or older to audition. Rehearsals will be on either Tuesday or Wednesday evenings and Sunday afternoons. Performances will be in late April/early May. WHAT IS THE SHOW ABOUT?: It's the Roaring '20s and Framingham's speak-easies are bursting with mobsters, flappers and those who are out to get 'em! As characters interact with the audience, clues will be revealed, and the audience will solve the mystery. This show promises to be a gin barrel of laughs - don't miss this unique theater experience! Italian Lieutenant - Lee Moncello Accountant; fussy rules follower; anal retentive; little OCD
Italian Button Man 1 - Al Dente Young, up and coming, smart, confident, suave, charming, self-confident
Italian Button Man 2 - Vinny Vendetta Dumb as an ox but tough brute/muscle; speaks in malapropisms; trigger happy; hot tempered
Moll - Bella Donna Boss's girlfriend; hangs all over the Boss; sexy; revels in her position as Boss's girl
Irish Mob: Irish Boss - Mick Donalds "Big Mac" Always telling stories from Ireland; street smart, scrappy; Irish brogue
Irish Lieutenant - Maeve Donalds "Small Fry" Sister of Irish Boss; strong, comfortable in her Lieutenant position; street smart, scrappy; Irish brogue
Irish Button Man 1 - Paddy O'Furniture Very superstitious; paranoid
Irish Button Man 2 - Spuds McKenzie A drunk; instigator
Club Staff: Kingpin - Hubert (Bert) Robinson, "Big Cheese" Grew up in Framingham, left when brother (Detective - see below) went to police academy, Chicago Mobster for most of his years, came home to Framingham for a quieter life; made the Irish and Italian mobs come to a peace agreement when he moved home; owns the Speakeasy where the show takes place. MAY BE PLAYED BY THE SAME ACTOR AS THE DETECTIVE.
Cigarette Girl - Virginia Slimms Betty Boop-ish; flirtatious; squeaky-voiced, dippy, giggly, innocent
Lounge Singer - Roxy Knocksoff Sexy, classy, flirtatious but discerning; wants to be on Broadway; aspiring, independently-minded, self-assured, sultry. THIS CHARACTER SINGS IN THE SHOW; IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN AUDITIONING FOR ROXY, PLEASE PREPARE A BALLAD AND AN UPTEMPO THAT YOU CAN SING A CAPELLA.
Bartender/Bookie - Fraulein Marlena Pourenschotz Marlena Dietrich type; business savvy; street smart; been hurt by a man in the past; Sultry but tough
Other: Detective - Ernest "Ernie" Robinson Straight-laced, brother of the Kingpin ("good" to Kingpin's "bad"); by the book, clean cut, follows rules/procedures; knows a lot of what is going on in town and with each character. MAY BE PLAYED BY THE SAME ACTOR AS THE KINGPIN. WHAT WILL AUDITIONS BE LIKE?: Auditions will begin at 5:30 on Tuesday and noon on Saturday (please be prompt so that you have time to fill out paperwork!).
