Frequently Asked Questions

Where is PAC?
Located at 140 Pearl Street on the third floor of the Danforth Museum building in downtown Framingham, PAC is accessed through the red door on the Pearl Street side of the building. We are one block from the Framingham Public Library and walking distance from the MBTA train station. Parking is available in our lot or on nearby streets.

How do I schedule a private lesson for my child?
Private lessons are arranged with the PAC office. When you call, we will ask about the student's age, level of experience, and schedule in order to match the student with an appropriate instructor. Every effort will be made to accommodate both new and continuing students.

Should I purchase tickets in advance for performances?
Reserving seats for featured performances is always advisable. There is often a discount for tickets purchased in advance, and our in-house hall has limited seating. Tickets for the Children's Garden (Friday 10am performances for young children) are sold at the door. PAC Family Players shows are generally held at the Framingham Civic League, a 250-seat theater located at 214 Concord St., just blocks from PAC. Tickets for all shows can be reserved by calling the PAC office at 508 875-5554.

How old should my child be to sign up?
Children as young as infants enjoy our Friday morning drop-in music programs. PAC employs instructors trained in Suzuki violin and piano who can accommodate children aged 3 and up. (The Suzuki method involves parental attendance and may include periodic small group lessons.) Instruction in other instruments generally begins in first grade. Older students - through adults - are always welcome. Private vocal instruction generally begins at age 12. Classes in dance and drama may begin in pre-school. Check our catalogue for more information.

Are there opportunities for students to advance in their specific discipline?
PAC offers small group ensembles, collaborations and performance opportunities. Programs are tailored to individual students' needs.

How can I volunteer to help PAC's mission?
PAC is always looking for volunteers to help with box office, technical theatre positions, special events, office work and fundraising. Call us to learn more about these opportunities for community service.

What about PAC school policies?
Policies regarding payment, missed classes, refunds and our student code of conduct are detailed on the Private Lessons page, as well as posted outside our studios. These represent fair and equitable treatment for all citizens regardless of race, ethnicity, sex, age, disability and economic means.

Does PAC offer financial aid or scholarships?
PAC does offer some financial assistance based on need. Work-study positions may also be available. Call PAC's office for more information on both of these programs.
